December 28, 2011

Finally having some time to sit down and blog after the holidays feels pretty good. Sorry for the lack of posts these past few weeks. How was your holidays?
Today I have a post about my Influenster Holiday Vox Box that I received about a week ago. I have been using the products ever since I got the box and all the products have been pretty exciting. I'm going to include all reviews for each product in this post , just to make it easier and so it won't get too confusing with so many blog posts.

December 17, 2011

It's the season to get out those red lipsticks and wear a gorgeous red lip for the holidays. I admit that this year has been the most I have worn a red lip and felt confident to pull it off. I really enjoy wearing a red lip now and will probably start doing it more often. These are a few of my favorite red lipsticks.

NOTD - Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Color in Big Money

December 6, 2011

I feel like Gem Crush was an appropriate name for these polishes, because I have a crush on this one. These Sally Hansen polishes are new and there are 8 different glittery polishes available. I ended up getting Big Money, which is a champagne pewter color. I decided to add a base color so my nails wouldn't be loaded with just glitter.

Anastasia Highlighting Brow Kit Review and Swatches

December 1, 2011

Brows are one of the most important things to keep groomed and make your entire face look more polished. I've had this highlighting brow kit for months now, and it's one of my favorite products from Anastasia. I haven't done swatches or a review on this yet on my blog, so why not feature it now. Plus, I see it on sale at a certain website which I will mention at the end of this post.

Review - Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer

November 26, 2011

Smashbox is known for their face primers, and this Photo Finish Hydrating Primer is the newest added to their collection. I was excited to try this out, being that my skin is dry and gets even drier in the winter. The Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer works great on my skin, so I expected this one to be even better considering it is supposed to be hydrating.

Revlon Color Burst Lipgloss Limited Edition Holiday Swatches - Eggnog and Decadent

November 16, 2011

Revlon came out with their Spice It Up collection for the holidays, consisting of limited edition Color Burst lipglosses and nail polishes. I ended up getting two of the lipglosses, in Eggnog and Decadent. I only wanted one other, Cocktail Dress, but they didn't have it. Which was odd because it was a brand new display. So I wasn't sure why it wasn't there. Anyways, here are swatches of these two glosses.

L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Mascara Review

November 11, 2011

I have been wanting to get a new mascara lately, and I originally wanted to get a high-end brand mascara. While at Walgreens though, I saw this mascara and the display intrigued me. Why? 80% because of Gwen Stefani advertising this mascara, 10% because of the interesting claims, and 10% because I didn't feel like waiting to go to the department store for a more expensive one.

I think I have more of a struggle because I always need a shampoo/conditioner that can do it all to tame my frizzy, wavy, hair. I tried out these Peter Thomas Roth shampoo and conditioner (trial sizes) to see how well they would work.

E.L.F. Cosmetics Essentials Eyelid Primers - Review

October 26, 2011

I bought these eyelid primers from E.L.F. a while ago and I have been using them ever since. First off, your going to notice my eyelid primers are a different shape than what is online. That's only because I bought these in a set from Target quite a while ago. I payed $3 for three primers, making them $1 each, same as online. I've actually seen pretty decent reviews on the eyelid primer in nude, so I figured I'm not loosing out on much if they are horrible.

Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers 2011 Nail Colors - Swatches

Today is just a swatch post with Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers nail polishes. They are really gorgeous colors, so if you find them, definitely pick them up. I got these at CVS and I haven't seen any since. Every store I have been to, they are either sold out or not even in the store.
I ended up swatching them on a nail wheel, which I hope you all don't mind. I used 3 coats for each and I really love these colors. My favorite is Creepy Pumpkin, which I intended to not even buy at all. I want to wear Black Magic throughout Fall and not just for Halloween. Haha.

NOTD - Revlon Starry Pink

October 11, 2011

I have been leaving my nails completely bare lately to let them grow out, so I finally painted my nails and have a NOTD post. This one is featuring Revlon Starry Pink and I am so happy that I found it recently. I was looking for it at so many Target stores, but I ended up finding it at a local Walgreens. Which was a surprise to me, but a pleasant surprise of course.

It's such a girly, light pink, sparkly nail polish that I can't stop staring at my nails. I only used 2 coats here, which you can still see my natural nails. I prefer it this way than another coat. Personal preference here.  I know it's going to be a pain to remove but it's well worth it! :)

Do you have Starry Pink?

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms in Peach Kiss and Pink Punch - Swatches and Review

October 5, 2011

When I heard about these new Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms, I wasn't really that intrigued. I intended to not even find them at all around in my area. I happened to stop and a CVS about 10 minutes away from me to get makeup wipes when I saw a full display of these. Once I saw them, I couldn't leave without buying a few. These two were the last of each kind, so I had one of those "meant for me" moments. Plus, there was a sale this week for buy one get one 50% off. So, I ended up paying around $6 for two.
This is how Maybelline describes Baby Lips Lip Balms:
"Say goodbye to basic lip balm and rediscover the lips you were born to have!
- Lips are instantly moisturised for up to 8 hours.
- Contains active care ingredients, such as shea butter and centella.
- Vitamin Complex delivering powerful anti-oxidants.
- SPF 20 for protection against harmful UV rays.
- After 4 weeks lips are deeply repaired, completely reborn. Guaranteed."

Peach Kiss:

Pink Punch:
My Review:
Since these are a lip balm, the first thing is the moisturizing part. are they moisturizing? Yes. For a long period of time? No. Once I apply this, I need to reapply within 20 minutes. Now that's a lot of reapplying if you are planning to use this all day long. If that's something that will bother you, then stick with your lip balm. I actually really enjoy these, and don't mind reapplying all day long. I like the fact that I can put this on fast, and I know my lips will have color to them. I've been keeping Peach Kiss in my purse ever since I bought it. I love the fruity smell it has and the nude, peachy, shiny color it gives to my lips. Pink Punch is a great one too, giving a wonderful pink color that is also shiny.
I was even thinking of picking up something like this, where I would have color on my lips but I wouldn't have to deal with the stickiness of a lipgloss. Of course lipsticks, but I didn't want that either. This is a happy medium between the two, and my lips are feeling a bit more moisturized then before. The "4 weeks" claim seen above in the description I can't prove if it's true or not. I will give an update on my Twitter once the 4 weeks is up to let you know if that is indeed true.

So that is my review. I hope it was helpful! Let me know what you think of these in the comments :)

Wet N Wild On the Prowl Nail Fast Dry Nail Color Collection Swatches

September 10, 2011

I was lucky enough to find the Wet N Wild On the Prowl collection at a near by CVS. Plus, this week at CVS, Wet N Wild lips, eyes, and nail products were buy one get one free, so I found the collection just in time to get 2 of the 4 I bought free! The display I had found was already very limited, so I only got these 4 polishes. There are a totally of 8 polishes that came out with this limited edition collection.

I ended up loving Cougar Attack more than I thought I was going to. I love the way it has a dark base and coppery glitter. Tangled in my Web and Correction Tape are obviously nail polishes meant for laying on top of others. I feature them more in other NOTD posts when I get more time to play with them. They are all great polishes, so I would be looking out for them at CVS! Let me know if you find them.

NOTD - China Glaze Urban-Night

September 5, 2011

I seem to can't get enough of wearing China Glaze on a daily basis. This NOTD is featuring Urban-Night from the China Glaze Metro collection. This is a rich purple creme polish, and I ended up doing 3 coats. I also wanted to make sure I took the picture in natural light. I noticed when I was taking pics of this inside, the color was way off. This is pretty much exact to how the color wears in person.

Excuse the slightly, almost inexcusable way I put this polish on. Sort of sloppy and I was in a rush to get to school. Just throwing that out there. Overall, I love this deep purple nail polish and is a definite favorite for me.

August Favorites

August 29, 2011

Well August is almost over (It literally flew by, right?) and I had a few favorite products in this month that I thought I would share. I rarely ever do these kind of posts, I'm either always too late to post or just never get around to it so I'm excited to do a post.

1.) Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes - I did full review of these already, so you can see that here if you missed it. I'm still loving these and I'm almost all out. One thing I have noticed since I use them everyday, is that they are a tad drying. Right after I use a wipe, I put on a face primer and I don't notice at all after.

2.) Senna Cosmetics Eye Color in Lavender Smoke - This is one of Senna's newest eyeshadows for Fall and I have been loving this color. It's a matte dark lavender, and I have been using this for my crease color. It gives me depth and color for a daytime look without looking overdone. Great color to add to a neutral eye! I will have swatches and a full review on this shadow in a future post.

3.) Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Long-Wear Blush in Exposed- I seriously cannot get enough of this blush. Since it is more of a brown colored blush I use this as a contour and it makes a huge difference in my usual makeup routine. I did a review post here.

4.) MAC Paint Pot in Painterly - My favorite eye base of all time. Such a great neutral color that I can wear alone, or with shadows over it and I know they will never crease.

5.) MAC Select Cover-Up Concealer in NW20 - I usually use the Select Moisturecover Concealer, but I needed something with more coverage. So I decided on trying out this concealer and it's been great. It has a medium coverage which is exactly what I wanted.

6.) MAC Creamsheen Glass in Natural Flare - I had no intention on buying this lip gloss. Seriously, the lady at MAC gave me the wrong color, I had asked for a color shade. But by the time I got home I figured I would just keep it and see how I like it. So glad I did because I continuously have it in my purse. I love how it's nude, so it kind of goes with everything.

7.) MAC Lipstick in Bombshell - This is one lipstick that I had completely forgot that I owned and have fallen back in love with it this month. Bombshell is a frosty pink color that gives me a lovely color to my lips.

8.) MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Tea Ceremony - I just recently bought this one and I adore this lipstick. I love how they are sheer lipsticks but with shine. The best of a lipstick and lipgloss in one without any fuss. Please let me know if should do a full review on this lipstick. I plan on buying more colors this week, so if you want to see swatches let me know!

9.) Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Face Primer - Okay, I know I have talked about this primer many times before, but I seriously can't start my face makeup in the morning without applying this first. It makes everything last all day and night. Love.

10.) Maybelline FIT Me Foundation in 120 - I have used this foundation all throughout Summer and it has been amazing. Holding up against humidity and super hot Summer days, it is a miracle foundation. I have done a full review on this before here, only the color that I reviewed was wrong, same results apply.

So there are my August Favorites! Hope you enjoyed!

NOTD - China Glaze Concrete Catwalk

August 26, 2011

This is one of my favorite nail polishes that I have bought recently. China Glaze Concrete Catwalk is from the new Metro collection, as you can see from my previous post below.

This color is described as a Steel grey creme. I have been loving creme polishes more than ever lately. This was very opaque and only needed 2 coats. I feel like I need to apologize for my nails being so short. I had decided last month to get arcylics (bad idea) and ended up taking them off. I couldn't get used them. What do you use to grow your nails healthy and long? Any recommendations would be great to hear! My nails are barely starting to look normal, so now I can wear polish and feel like my old self. Haha :)

Anyways, how much do you love this color?! I know, I will let you tell me. :)

China Glaze Metro Collection Swatches

August 22, 2011

China Glaze Metro Collection is one of my favorite collections that have came out recently. There are 12 amazing shades that are beautiful colors for Fall. I have 5 of the 12 polishes swatched on a nail wheel. I only used a nail wheel because it made it easier to swatch them all. I will be featuring each one in a NOTD post as I wear them. All of them were super opaque and easy to apply, as usual with CG. Now, China Glaze did send me 3 of the polishes and I bought the other two. I just wanted to state that in my post. Now here are the swatches!

I hope these swatches help out. I love all of the different shades, it's so hard for me to pick a favorite. I even want to go back to Sally's and get the rest. If I do I will have a second post on the rest that I can find.

Which polishes are you wanting from the Metro Collection?

Brand Bests #15 - Senna Cosmetics

August 14, 2011

I feel like this Brand Best post for Senna Cosmetics is long over due. Senna has some of the best and most amazing quality products that I have ever used. This brand is more on the pricey side, but you definitely get what you pay for. Everyone should know how my Brand Bests posts work, but in case you don't, let me explain. These are products from one brand that I personally think are "Brand Bests." Does not mean I have tried every single thing from them, only that these are my favorites of what I own. This is my own personal opinion with each product, as it should be. So, here are my Brand Bests from Senna Cosmetics

Senna Cosmetics Eye Colors - $16.50

Senna has great eye shadows, I preferably like their metallic and matte ones. They are really easy to blend, are very pigmented, and always last all day long. I only have a couple, but I do have some new ones from Fall coming up that they sent me that I will definitely be swatching and reviewing in a separate post. My favorite color is Flare, which is a light cream color. I use it as my highlight or an all over color for simple nude eyelids.

Senna Cosmetics Mineral Mix Buff & Brighten - $35.00

I love how this has a finishing powder and a highlighter in one. I love the powder, it makes my makeup look complete without it ever looking cakey or overdone. It's a very sheer translucent powder so it's not like you can go overboard with this. I also really enjoy the highlighter. I use a blending eyeshadow brush for the highlighter, giving me a subtle shine.

Senna Cosmetics Cream Lipsticks - $18.00
Senna has many different types of lipsticks, but I love their Cream lipsticks the most. They are so pigmented and for me, they have been long lasting as well. Very smooth and the color range they offer is amazing. I have swatches of their lipsticks here and here.

Senna Cosmetics Lip Lacquers - $19.00

If you want to try anything from Senna, I say you try their lip lacquers. They are my most favorite thing that I own by them. I love these lip glosses! They are semi-sticky, but not like that crazy sticky where it gets stuck to your hair and it's annoying. These will stay on for hours and they have a great smell to them. Double win. You will definitely find one in a color that interests you.

That concludes my Brand Bests post on Senna Cosmetics. I hope you enjoyed!
