Hard Candy Beetle (Orly Space Cadet Dupe!)

So I have been hearing a lot of buzz going around in the blogging and twitter world about Hard Candy Beetle being a dupe for Orly Space Cadet. Which would be amazing, because a lot of people have missed out on getting Space Cadet from selling out. Plus, hello! Hard Candy is way cheaper! Once I heard this, I immediately ran out to Wal-Mart and snatched up Hard Candy Beetle.

So here is Hard Candy Beetle in all it's glory:
And I did a side by side comparison of the two in question:
So what's the verdict? Definite dupe!! Excuse the mess around the nails but I wanted to get this up so all my readers know! In person, they are so exact, it's incredible. I cannot tell any difference between the two. Hard Candy Beetle sells for $5? You cannot beat that if you have been looking for Orly Space Cadet and have had no luck.

Let me know if you get Hard Candy Beetle and what you think!

Sigma Makeup Premium Travel Kit - Full Review

If you're an avid traveler or love to carry your brushes with you everywhere, consider getting this premium travel makeup kit by Sigma. They come in different colors, I received the Stylish in Black kit. So I'm going to do a full review on each brush, and at the end if I really think it's worth buying.

First off, I really like the case that they come in. It closes with a magnet and it's a good size.

Tapered face -F25
Large domed brush with tapered tip. Ideal for application and blending of powder products, blush, and highlighter. One of my favorites from the kit. I don't have a powder brush that is so tapered at the end like this. I definitely use this more for highlighting and contouring.

Duo Fibre Powder/Blush - F15
Medium size tapered duo fibre brush. I tend to use this one for blush, but I don't really pick it up as much as I thought I would. Still really soft and hardly ever sheds.
Large Concealer - F65
Large synthetic concealer brush. Can be used to apply cream-based products to large areas. I use this one to focus on blending my concealer under my eyes. That fact that it's large I do like better than say a small concealer brush.
Large Fluff - E50
Ideal for applying and blending powder products on the lid, highlighting and contouring. Definitely another one of my favorites. I've been using this large fluff brush lately for highlighting under the brow bone and for an all over color on the lids.
Small Tapered Blending - E45
Small domed brush with highly tapered tip. This one reminds me of the MAC 226 that I have. No difference really. If you compare them, just the price makes a huge difference. Sigma obviously cheaper than the MAC one.
Short Shader - E20
Flat, short, slightly rounded and dense brush. I like this one for applying eye shadow under the bottom lashes. The bristles are so small and dense, it really gets the shadow where you want it.
Small Eye Liner - E10
Delivers a precise fine-line along the lash line. I was completely excited to get this brush, because frankly I needed an eye liner brush. When I first got this, a few of the hairs were strayed, but once I wash it, it was fine. Works amazing and is so precise.

So I used these brushes for 3 weeks. Using, washing, everything I would do normally to see how they would hold up. First thing is, yes they are very soft, even softer than my MAC brushes. I personally, had some shedding when I first washed these. After that for a second wash, non of them shed. They have been holding up pretty good and I think I like them better than the MAC ones. I only say "I think" because I have been using MAC brushes for so long, that I'm trying to get adjusted still. I'm not going to say that I use these every single day and they are the only brushes I use. Sometimes I use my usual brushes, and other days I must use the Sigma ones. Just depends on what makeup I'm doing on that particular day.

So are they worth it? I say yes. If you don't want to jump into buying the Premium Profession Kit ($149), buy the Premium Travel Kit ($59) and you will see how they are really good brushes.

NOTD - Wet N Wild in Spectacle

Hey everyone!
So here I have a new NOTD. Actually I have been wearing this for a couple of days, and can't stop looking at my nails. It's such a party, fun, pink nail polish for any girly girl.
I only did 2 coats here. Probably if I did 3 coats it would of been not as sheer. But it didn't bother me, there is still a lot of glittery goodness here.
I'm not very good at taking close up pictures, but I hope these worked out okay. Just wanted to show the amazingness in the bottle and and close up of the nail. This is actually the first Wet N Wild nail polish that I own, which is sad. I definitely plan to buy more. I don't ever want to take this polish off. Haha. And it was for super cheap. Win.

Senna Cosmetics Virtual Vintage Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

Hey everyone! So to my surprise, there was a package from Senna Cosmetics sent to me in the mail about a couple of weeks ago. Inside it had some new products from their Virtual Vintage Fall/Winter Collection. I was so excited to try them out and review for you all right away, but I did want to give it a little time to play with them and really try them out. So these swatches and mini-review are focusing on the lip products from the new collection. I have done a previous review here on some of their other lipsticks if you want to see swatches.
Garnet is a beautiful rosy dark pink color and Valentina is a very true, bold, red lipstick. I’m determined to wear a red lip out this Winter. All of their lipsticks are so creamy and easy to blend, they are a must in anyone’s makeup kit or your own stash.

I love this lip liner. It's kind of a neutral pink. I paired this with Garnet and had a great pink-nude lip color that lasted hours throughout the day.

I will have some other reviews coming up from this collection soon. Go here to see more on the Virtual Vintage Collection and let me know what you think!

Review - Carmex Skin Care Products

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Carmex®. All opinions are 100% mine.

Everyone knows Carmex by their amazing lip balm and lip products. Now they are expanding their line with the new skin care products they have come out with. Carmex now has a new Healing Lotion and Healing Cream.

Now let me explain the difference between the two. The Carmex Healing Lotion is 5.5 ounces and has aloe and vitamin E to moisturize, heal, and protect. The Carmex Healing Cream is obviously thicker and more concentrated made to be for the roughest and driest skin.

Okay now what I thought about the products:

-Scent: They smell exactly what you would expect from a Carmex product. Both have that familiar scent, like the famous lip balm. The Healing Cream has a bit of a stronger scent than the lotion. Not overpowering, just slightly stronger. They smell very medicated at first, which bothered me, but then it kind of fades. After about 15 minutes of having it on, I started to love the after smell. Something very light and refreshing about it.

-Feel: The cream. like Carmex said, is very thick. You only need a small amount and it rubs in very well. After about 5 minutes, it made my skin feel smooth and not greasy at all. The lotion is much more lighter and creamier. The lotion I can see myself using a lot more than the Healing Cream.

-Product Packaging: I like the packaging. I think it works well for each product. Not much to say here, I like it.

-So does it work? Yes definitely works to make my skin softer and not as dry. I also have sensitive skin and I did not react to each one in any way.

So there is my review! I hope you enjoyed and let me know if you would try!

Carmex® Healing Lotion and Carmex® Healing Cream can be purchased for $5.99 each at Walgreens stores, walgreens.com, and drugstore.com

Beauty News - OPI And Katy Perry Collab

I haven't been so excited about a nail polish collection in a little while. Haha, I'm a sucker for pretty polishes! I love Katy Perry and I'm so excited about this Collaboration that I want and need all of the colors from the collection.

From left to right: Last Friday Night, Not Like the Movies, The One That Got Away, Teenage Dream and Black Shatter.
Black shatter will separate on top of your nails and give you that "shattered" effect. Very interesting indeed.
What do you think about this collaboration? Which celeb would you like to see a collab with next? Should I even bring up the Justin Bieber Collection? Eh, not too thrilled. I personally would like to see something with Gwen Stefani. I love her so much it's ridiculous. Haha.

Brand Bests #10 - NYX Cosmetics

Yay! I have covered 10 beauty brand in my Brand Bests series. This time was a little different, because I asked you all to pick what brand should be #10. With a landslide of votes, it was NYX cosmetics. I have always had a few NYX products in my makeup stash, but not many. I use way more NYX cosmetics now than I ever have and I love the majority of them. If you pick right, you can find jems that you will love. These are my personal favorites that I tend to use the most. Know that this is from my experience with each item that I have loved from this brand. Here we go!

 NYX Round Lipsticks ($4)
One of my favorite colors from the round lipsticks is Iced Honey. BEST nude lip color ever. These never dry my lips out, and are very true to the color that you get. It says on the website long lasting? They last a few hours but I wouldn't say all day long. Still for being a $4 lipstick, buy some. They are great for the price.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils ($4)
Yes, the famous jumbo eye pencils. If you haven't tried them for yourself, you must. Now I'm not saying they are the greatest thing on the planet. But they are a great base to intensify the eyeshadow color you are going to wear.Don't use too much or it will crease on you.

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss ($5.50)

Now that I have tried these, I am so hooked! They smell so good (almost like cherry) and the color pay off is good. They are called Mega Shine for a reason. Also they made my lips soft and moisturized. I carry about 2 or 3 of these with me everywhere I go :)

NYX Studio Liquid Liners ($4.50)
Yes, I had to add these in as part of the Brand bests. I have already done a review and a couple of swatches of these here. So that post can tell you more about why these are part of my faves.

So there you have it! My favorites from NYX cosmetics. All can be purchased at Nyxcosmetics.com, Ulta, or Cherryculture.com

NYX Studio Liquid Liner Swatches and Review

Hey everyone!
Here I am back with a couple of swatches of the new NYX studio liquid liners. They are extremely pigmented and long lasting. I prefer liquid liners compared to pencil liners so these are going to be used very often. I used to always stick to just black liquid liner, but now have been venturing out to use some bold colors. It gives me a pop of color when I do neutral eyes.
When I wore them all day long, no smudging or flaking. But once you do want to take the liner off, it's very easy. Right when the water or makeup remover hits the liner, it comes off quick.

They are $4.50 each which is an amazing price for these awesome eyeliners. Find them at nyxcosmetics.com

Clarisonic Plus Review

So finally going to get to my review on the Clarisonic Plus. I have been using it everyday for about 2 months already. I ended up getting the set with the Clarisonic Plus and Philosophy products from Sephora. In this post, I'm going to be answering some questions some readers have about the Clarisonic. It will be a long post, but a full review and what my honest (as always) opinion is on purchasing this.

Here is my twitpic that I took they day I got it.
What is the Clarisonic and what does it do?
Clarisonic sonic skin cleansing is the essential first step in an ultra-clean skin care ritual. Gently gliding while cleansing deeply, Sonic Skin Cleansing Systems deliver a professional sonic micro-massage that feels good and makes your skin look great. The sonic action gently clarifies and revitalizes the skin without the harsh chemicals or abrasion. Even makeup is removed six times better than standard cleansing. And skin is left so clean it actually absorbs products like serums and moisturizers better.
What makes the Clarisonic Plus different than the rest?
The Clarisonic Plus has 3 speeds for the face and a body mode. The body mode is great for dry patches, firmer skin, and gentle exfoliation.

What kind of skin do you have?
First of all, I have really sensitive skin and tends to be dry. So I debated on getting this because I was afraid it was going to irritate my skin. I don't have an oily T-zone, and some redness by the sides of my nose and on my cheeks.

What did you think of the Clarisonic Plus?
Okay, now I know everyone has been raving about the Clarisonic, and honestly, they should be. This is the best investment I have ever made. I noticed a difference the very first time I used it. My skin felt more cleaner, firmer, and smoother. After a month of using it, my face was even brighter.
I started out using the Philosophy products that I got with the set, but my skin was feeling really itchy so I immediately stopped using it and went to the Aveeno foaming cleanser. I have a separate review of the cleanser here. These two paired up together are simply amazing for my skin.
Left - Before I started the Clarisonic. Right: Now using the Clarisonic every day and night.

As you can see from the pics, my skin on the right is so much more brighter then on the left. The difference is more in person than in the pictures and what I can tell has changed about my skin is for the positive.

Here are a few questions some readers had:
Is it easy to use?
Yes, very easy to use. In fact, it does everything for you. It beeps when to move from forehead, to nose, to chin, and so on.
Was it worth the price?
For me and my experience, yes it was worth it to me. I know it seems like a lot of money for something just for your skin, but if you have problem skin or just want great skin, then invest and get one.
How is the body mode?
Body mode is great. I use it in the shower maybe only once a week. I don't have problems with my skin so once a week does the trick of getting rid of dead skin and making it smoother. Also helps extremely before shaving which is great and self-tanning, which was happening more in the Summer.

Hope you enjoyed my review! If you have anymore questions, feel free to leave them in the comments and I will add them to the reader questions section.
