Glow Recipe has recently launched a new three-in-one scrub to lip balm that will smooth, hydrate and tint lips in a universal shade of pink. I picked this up at Sephora and while this is a pricey lip product, I wanted to see how well this would actually work for those of us with dry lips. Glow Recipe Lip Pop is concentrated with watermelon, coconut sugar, and flower AHA to create this scrub-to-balm concept. Find out more info about this below and my thoughts on if it is worth the splurge.
More info about the ingredients in Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Lip Pop ($22):
- Watermelon Extract: Hydrates, delivers essential vitamins, and soothes
-
Coconut: Coconut flower sugar hydrates and provides physical
exfoliation to gently remove dead skin, while coconut oil
moisturizes—preventing further dryness and flaking
- Flower-Derived AHA: Extracts derived from hibiscus, wild pansy, and hawthorn that gently smooth, soften, and hydrate lips
I have tried Glow Recipe products before, and I find them to be hydrating and work really well on my skin. There are pros and cons to this lip balm. The pros are: It's almost instantly hydrating once applied, the scent is pleasant and not too strong, and I enjoy the subtle scrub it gives that you can feel when you press your lips together.
The cons are: The obvious high price for a lip balm and how you don't get a lot of product. You can see from the pic above how much product is in the tube. If I am reapplying throughout the day on a number of days, this product is going to finish quick. That can be good or bad depending on how long it will actually last me, I don't know that info yet.
What I can tell you is that it does hydrate my lips for a reasonable amount of time during the day. I also appreciate that it soothes my lips rather than making them more dry like other lip balms I have tried before. I have been on the hunt for a lip balm that is going to care for my dry lips and I have found a winner.
Let me know: Is this too pricey or are you willing to try it?
