Swatches: Polly Pocket Eyeshadow Palette

June 26, 2019

Polly Pocket has always been something that takes me back to my childhood because they were one of my favorite things to play with when I was a kid. So when I saw the Mattel had came out with a small makeup collection through Hot Topic, I wanted to try it out for myself. The packaging definitely has a nostalgic feel and I couldn't resist picking up the eyeshadow palette. I already expected the quality to be terrible since I was mostly buying it for display/keepsake purposes. I have to say though it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Find out more and see what shades are inside below.

The packaging of the Polly Pocket Eyeshadow Palette is study cardboard but the shadow pans could of been a little but more secure. A couple of shades were moving as I was swatching but none broke or fell out. The palette also comes with an eyeshadow brush with Polly on the end. The brush is not the best there is and I would definitely only have it in the palette for display purposes.

There are 10 eyeshadows in the palette and I found only 2 shades to be difficult to work with. They were Pollyville and Take Me Anywhere Polly Pocket. They just didn't show up on my skin and I had trouble with applying them. A few of the best shadows were Tiny, Made in the 90s, Shiny and Polly. I really liked these shades and they were buildable. Are they the best quality shadows out there? No. But they aren't the worst. I tried shadows that were chalky and with no pigmentation at all. These were able to hold there own (with a good primer) and they were soft and smooth to the touch. This is one of those products that is more of a keepsake for nostalgic purposes. I also was able to get this on sale recently for $10 which made my it more worth it to get so I didn't have to pay the full price.

Polly Pocket Eyeshadow Palette retails for $16.90 and can be found at Hot Topic
