Covergirl has launched 4 all new eyeshadow palettes that have a royal theme to them. I picked up the Revolution Eyeshadow Palette which comes with 12 eyeshadow shades which are mainly jewel-toned, metals and neutrals. I really wanted to pick out a palette from the 4 that had shades that I don't typically go for. Find out more and see swatches below.
The new Covergirl Revolution Eyeshadow Palette has 12 eyeshadows that all seem to compliment each other well. The packaging is sturdy cardboard with a large mirror on the inside. The shadows themselves are a good size and are easy enough to work with. The shade Get It was the only one that seem to break apart on the way home even with me being careful with it. The other shades have been fine though with no problems.
All of the eyeshadows are very soft and applying them works best with an eyeshadow primer underneath. You can also wet your brush to make them more intense. I found the matte shades in this palette to be a little difficult to work with. I had some fallout and had to go over those shades a bit more vs. the other shades. I do wish this row would of had different shades instead of a lot of gold/orange colors. I still really like the eyeshadows and would say that they have the right amount of pigmentation. Definitely a step up from what Covergirl used to be with their eyeshadows. Are they high-end quality? No but I do think they are a great quality for being drugstore.
I absolutely love this row of eyeshadows and they work well together with the first row. Exposed, Ruthless and Secret Password are some of my favorite shades in this palette. I can use them for daytime or bump them up for a nighttime look. Soot & Sparkle, Bare It All, and Dare are shades that need to be in this palette. Soot & Sparkle is great for when you want something extra for your look and it can really look amazing on the lids. Bare It All is a matte nude shade but needed in this palette to bring it all together. Dare is a fun chocolate brown shade with gold shimmer. It is great on the outer corner of the eyes. Overall, I would say this palette is worth the buy and using a good primer is key.
