L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara - Photos and Review

October 30, 2013

Today I have a review of the new L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly mascara in Blackest Black. I don't use L'Oreal mascara that often, so I wanted to see how this one was going to be. It claims to lift the outer corner lashes to give a winged-out effect and instantly volumize the lashes. Find out how it worked for me below!

More information on the L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara:
Stretch and extend your lashes like wings! Introducing Voluminous Butterfly Mascara, one of our most-exciting mascara innovations, yet. Its revolutionary Butterfly Brush with asymmetrical lash line shape extends and lifts outer corner lashes to give you a winged-out effect, instantly volumizing lashes at the roots and stretching lashes outward. The unique Cocoon Fibers instantly wrap lashes in a soft, delicate veil to create silky, spectacular lashes that flutter.

I was really impressed with this mascara. I expected it to only give me some volume and not do much else. It gave my lashes volume and actually held curl all day. I didn't get any length from the mascara, so whatever length my lashes have is what you see in the picture. I thought it did a pretty good job at volumizing, but also not once did the mascara try to get clumpy. The brush helped with separating the lashes and the formula wasn't too wet or thick.

The claim about how it will "stretch and extend your lashes like wings", I didn't really notice any length or "stretch" like I mentioned before. My lashes and the length they were already was the only length that I had, the mascara didn't make a difference there. Even though it didn't have any length, I still like the effect it had on my lashes with volume and separation.

Recommend? Yes, as an overall mascara and wearing it everyday, I would buy this again.

L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara retails for $8.99 and can be found at drugstores or online.

Let me know if you would try this mascara!

I really dislike L'Oreal but this mascara is actually quite good. Unlike their Lash Architect, the Millionandsomething (what a fail!) and numerous other products, this mascara was a quite pleasant surprise. That being said, there are far better mascaras for half the price and without animal cruelty added in the retail price. Just think Essence and their I<3Stage mascaras, for example.
