Urban Decay The Theodora Palette - Photos, Swatches, and Review

February 5, 2013

The Glinda and Theodora Palettes from Urban Decay are inspired by Disney’s Oz The Great and Powerful. This post will focus on the Theodora palette and will have pictures and swatches of the eyeshadows. I couldn't wait to order this palette and so happy that I did. So what did I think of this palette? See my review below.

 This set contains:
 - 6 x 0.05 oz Eyeshadow in Broken (pale cream satin), Beware (warm brown matte), Bewitch (dark charcoal brown satin), West (deep metallic brown shimmer), Spell (black satin with green and gold shimmer and gold metallic with tonal glitter), Jealous (pale green pearl and dark green pearl)
- 0.03 oz 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Zero (black)
- 0.1 oz Super-Saturated High Gloss Color in Theodora (bright red cream)
- A card with step-by-step instructions on how to get Theodora’s look from the film

My Review:
Who could not love this palette? Such amazing eyeshadows and they are so pigmented. Even the neutral shadows are some of my favorites, in addition to the bold shimmery greens and gold. Spell had a bit of fall out but smoothed out nice and was easy to work with. I love the Urban Decay didn't go totally dark with the eye shadows and made them more earthy rich shades.
I like that the palette itself since it is sturdy and easy to take with you when you want to travel. You can also change out to other UD shadows since they pop right out. The Theodora palette compared to The Glinda Palette? Which to choose? Totally depends on what you are looking for in different eye looks. I couldn't decide so I bought both. Definitely a makeup purchase I knew I would not regret!

Urban Decay The Theodora Palette retails for $49 and can be found at Sephora or the Urban Decay website.

Let me know what you think!

  2. Like you I got both palettes too as they were so different. This one had some great neutrals and would make a cute natural eye look. One of the best things about this as you said is the pots of shadow pop out and the case is reusable. I do like that the case is metal and sturdier than the cardboard palettes. BTW, these are full sized shadows and they retail for $18 each so this is a real steal! The only compliant I had was there is no room inside for the lip pencil (Oh the lippy I truly love, it's a wonderful product and I will be repurchasing!!!) This also includes my favorite pencil eye liner, the 24/7 liner, so bonus for that too. It glides on smoothly and very easy and there is no having to warm it up or any tricks to get it to go on easily. It does not drag or pull and I can't say enough positives about the liner pencil that comes in this kit. Love love love.
