Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System - Review

August 9, 2012

I was really curious about this new mascara from Too Faced, I just had to try it. I've been wanting to wear false lashes more often, but I just can't get used to them. I hate they way they make my eyes feel heavy and I can never get application of them right. To me, they are such a hassle to even bother with. I figured this would be something to make my lashes "better than false lashes". I put it to the test, did it pass? My review is below!

Here is more info about this nylon lash extension system:
What It Is:
This do-it-yourself 3 step system allows you to achieve the dramatic impact of false lashes AND extreme length of lash extensions without the hassle, cost or commitment. The look of false lashes has never been easier or more affordable. Throw out the glue and cancel that salon appointment, now you can brush on the bold, flirty lashes of your dreams in three simple steps.

Step 1, Prime: Use 1-2 coats of the Activating Mascara Base and Top Coat to create a base to adhere the weightless Flexistretch™ nylon fibers.

Step 2, Build: Brush on 1-2 coats of the Flexistretch™ Nylon Fibers to build outrageous length and volume. Focus the Flexistretch™ fibers where you want extra length or volume.

Step 3, Seal: Finish by sealing the Flexistretch™ Nylon Fibers with 1-2 coats of the ultra-black Activating Mascara to create that “better than false lashes” effect. This final coat surrounds each nylon-coated lash while it melts and stretches the Flexistretch™ fibers into a long, thick, dramatic lash.

This nylon lash extension system was something I definitely had to get used to. It wasn't magically my lashes were fuller, longer, and better than false lashes just like that. The first time I used this, the mascara base and top coat was easy to use and coated my lashes nicely. Once I had to build the fibers, was when it felt weird. I do wear contacts, so I was more careful to not get the fibers in my eyes. I could feel them on my lashes and I thought it would feel like that until I took them off. Once I applied the mascara base and top coat again, I couldn't feel the fibers anymore. I definitely saw a difference immediately. My lashes were longer and fuller than before. But that wasn't it. I did experience my lashes sticking together, so I needed to use a lash comb to get them to not look so clumpy. Once I did that, my lashes looked 10 times better than leaving them alone. Using a lash comb, for me, is a must with this.

Now, one of my main concerns when it comes to my lashes, is using a mascara that will hold curl. The whole focus on this system, is for your lashes to be longer and fuller, but says nothing about curl. Luckily, this stuff hold curl way better than any other mascara I have used.Taking it off was not too bad. If you have a good makeup remover, then it will be easy like any other mascara. I made sure to take my contacts off before my makeup (like usual), in case the fibers got in my eyes somehow.

Now that I have been using it for a while, I have gotten used to it and love it. Is this better than false lashes? For me, and how I feel about actual false lashes, yes! I would rather use this than fuss with lash glue and the heaviness from false lashes. Remember, everyone is different though! This definitely worked for me, but you have to try it yourself to see if it would work for you.

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System retails for $35 and can be purchased online.

Let me know what you think!
