Drugstore Sundays #2: Favorite Blushes and Powders

October 30, 2011

Here we are on Drugstore Sunday #2! These posts are actually quite exciting for me, that I have a certain day to get these posts done. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. This Sunday will focus on my favorite blushes and powders. Now, I definitely don't want you to think these are the greatest blushes and powders from the drugstore of all time. That's not what these posts are about. Just my favorites and a description of why. I hope that makes sense.

I was going to include swatches, but these everyday favorites were lighter than the camera was picking up. I will go in the order they are pictured above:

1.) Revlon Matte Powder Blush in Barely Buff - I ended up buying this from CVS months ago and it was on clearance. I don't know if that meant it's discontinued? I should probably check soon. Anyways, this blush I very nude and matte, so I tend to use this as a contour. The brush it comes with is useless, so I use my own blush brush. I do like how it has a mirror that pops out of the side.

2.) E.L.F. Cosmetics Blush in Mellow Mauve - I know E.L.F. isn't typically found in regular drugstores (CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid), but I did want to include them anyways because of their price range. I have quite a few E.L.F. blushes but this one if my favorite. It looks like it's going to be dark on the skin, but it's not. It gives a nice medium mauve color with a bit of shimmer.

3.) Maybelline FIT Me Blush in Light Pink - This blush is a light pink color that I will use when I want to play up my eyes and want something subtle for my cheeks.

4.) E.L.F. Cosmetics Translucent Matifying Powder -I'm not a big blush addict or anything, which is why I decided to include powders as well. More like finishing powders because I don't use pressing powder since I have dry skin. I do love this translucent powder that helps keep my makeup in place. I use it to set my concealer under my eyes and t-zone.

5.) Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow and Mood Boosting Powder in Beige -I love love this Mood Boosting Powder from Physicians Formula. I use this as an all over highlighter to brighten my face, making it glowy and lovely. It's so gorgeous on the skin and in heart form which indeed makes me happy when I use it. :)

I hope you enjoyed!
