Event Recap: The Makeup Show LA

February 26, 2011

I have been so MIA from my blog lately, and I have to say sorry to you all! I have been so busy with life and with this past weekend being The Makeup Show LA. It was an amazing event, this was my second year attending. I seriously cannot say enough about the event. I had such a great time meeting people and seeing all the great new products. Here are some pics from the show:
If you follow me on Twitter, you already know I spent most of my time (and all my makeup spending money) at the Inglot booth. I could not pass up an amazing deal for the palettes I bought. I will have swatches and reviews on the two eyeshadow palettes and the blush palette I bought. I was able to meet a few amazing bloggers such as Sara from The Makeup Snob, Krissy from Addicted to All Things Pretty, Milan from Milan Rouge, and the fabulous Robyn from Purely Cosmetics. It was such a great event and they did an amazing job this year!

Preview: OPI Femme De Cirque Spring 2011 Collection

February 25, 2011

OPI is getting set to release their Spring collection, called Femme De Cirque, this coming April. This collection consists of 4 different polishes, all very subtle and soft. If you love bold and bright colors for polish, this collection obviously won't be for you. If you do love the light and feminine shades, they will be for you!
(L-R) So Many Clowns...So Little Time; In The Spot-light Pink; I Juggle...Men; Step Right Up!
I personally tend to buy and wear sheer or soft polishes way more than I do brights, so this collection is very intriguing to me!

MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick and Lipgloss - Swatches and Review

February 22, 2011

Lady Gaga is again the spokesperson for MAC's Viva Glam campaign, coming out with Viva Glam 2 lipstick and lipgloss. Every cent, as usual, goes toward the MAC AIDS Fund.

I was really excited to see that the lipstick and lipgloss were more nude this time around.
The lipgloss is a great nude and works for my skin tone. It's described as light, neutral, pinked beige. My lips tend to be more pink/red naturally, so this makes my lips a really great nude color without looking too light or washed out.

I was trying to take my pictures in natural light, and it started to get gloomy. That's why my pictures are lightly darker than usual, I apologize. Anyways, I was really more excited about the lipstick, which is light warm beige.Your lips definitely need to not be flawed when wearing this one its own. If you do wear it with the lipgloss, way better result in my opinion. I love them combined more than the lipstick by itself.

Here are swatches of both:
MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick and Lipgloss
MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 lipstick and lipgloss are available at and retail for $14.50 each.

Will you be buying these? What do you think?

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Powder in Beige Review

February 19, 2011

I could not resist buying this happy little product to try out and review. I bought this about a week ago and have been using it ever since. I usually stay away from powders all together because my skin will look extra dry if I use it. Lately my skin hasn't been as dry, so using this has been actually a good thing. Dare I say a "happy" time?

Physicians Formula describes this powder as:
- Ultra-smooth, perfecting powder in a complementary palette of color blends together to even out skin tone with a flawless radiance.
- Infused with our Happy Boost Blend, featuring Happy Skin and Euphoryl, natural plant extracts which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress.
- The sweet scent of Violet provides a feeling of joy each time you apply.
Here's what I thought:

Packaging - I actually love the packaging. It's pink, has a mirror on the bottom with a small brush, and hearts that I adore. To open the powder you just push the button and it will pop open. Super simple and cute.

Scent - I thought the scent would get really tiring after a while or possibly give me a headache. But that did not happen at all. It's a pleasant smell and that's the point where I get "happy" to use it. I know, how could a makeup product make you happy? I didn't believe it either, now I do.

Product - I bought the beige, which I would of did a swatch of, but it was too light to even see the swatch. The powder itself is soft and gives me a sheer coverage. Which I expected, I knew it wasn't going to be heavy or extremely pigmented. Just a nice light powder.

Price - Okay the price... It retails for $13.95 which I kind of feel is a bit overpriced. I wish it would of been at the least $10.95. I was able to get mine for $7.95 with the $3 off coupon on the box and CVS extra rewards. So if you can, buy it with coupons or on sale.

So overall, I love this product. Even though the price is a bit steep (for a drugstore product) I can't stop using it. So that must say something good about this powder. Hope you enjoyed this review!

Wet N Wild Color Icon 8 Eyeshadow Palettes - Swatches and Review

February 14, 2011

I had to go to three different Walgreens, but I finally found these 8 eyeshadow palettes that Wet N Wild came out with. This is a great deal ($4.99 each) and they are the amazing quality that we all know Wet N Wild has been doing lately. These are not limited edition, but I wanted to get them so badly I had to look for them. Finally at the last Walgreens in my area, I found the 3 that are available. Here is a closer look at each one plus swatches.

Comfort Zone
I knew that I was going to want and need this palette because of the neutrals and greens. This has been the palette I use every day right now. BEST purchase for $4.99 ever. If your not sure about these palettes, re-consider. They are definitely worth it.

Blue Had Me At Hello
I almost passed on getting this palette, but I am so glad I bought it. I love the silver shadows and the blue eyeshadows are really pigmented. All the shadows have great color payoff.

Petal Pusher
Another great palette. A few of the colors were more on the sheer side, but I personally don't mind. I saw swatches on other sites where the sheer colors looked more pigmented, so could of just been the way I did my swatches. The two darkest colors in this palette are my favorite and I love purple eyeshadows already, so another one worth buying.

Which palette is your favorite? Are you still looking for these? Let me know!

Glamour Doll Eyes Tower Review

February 13, 2011

Today I have a review on the Yuliya Tower from Glamour Doll Eyes. You can get different shadow towers ranging from 3-6 shadows each and you can even customize a tower if you want which is nice.
This tower has 5 shadows that can definitely be used for a neutral or brown smokey look. Today I have pictures and swatches, and another day I will do an EOTD post. Here are the shadows in order from top to bottom:
Cloud Coverage is a matte white.
Dazzle Me is a light beige sheen with silver shimmer.
Boyfriend Sweater is a soft gray brown shadow.
Chocoholic is a deep brown copper.
Urban Trash is a matte black. The best matter black ever. That's just my opinion.
Here are swatches of them all:
The shadows are extremely pigmented and long lasting. I swatched these just with my fingers and only took a small amount from each.

I love the convenience of having all the shadows I need for a look all together. Prices for the Towers range from $10.50-$21.00 depending on how many shadows you want. I want to make my own Tower now! :)

Let me know what you think!
