First Impressions: Hard Candy Glamoflauge Mix-In Pigment Makeup Drops

September 8, 2016

Today I have a look at a new product that is new for fall from Hard Candy. The Glamoflauge Mix-In Pigment Makeup Drops are made to add to any primer, moisturizer, or foundation for coverage or shade. I was so excited to try these, since I had a feeling they could possibly be a dupe for the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops (which I own and have used in the past). Find out more about these and a comparison to the Cover FX ones below!

So since you can mix these with which ever kind of base you want to use, I ended up trying them with a face primer. The formula is a thin consistency, but you definitely only need a few drops to get a good amount of coverage. What’s great is you can add more drops depending on how much coverage you want. I ended up doing 2-3 drops and that’s enough for me. They blended out well when mixed with a primer and the coverage lasted all day.

I’m sure you’ve noticed that these look very similar to the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops. I was able to compare both to each other and see how much they are alike. So are the Hard Candy Mix-In Drops a dupe for Cover FX Custom Cover Drops? Yes! They have the same great pigment and the coverage was the same. The only difference I noticed was that the Hard Candy drops are more of a thinner consistency while the Cover FX ones are a bit thicker. They both also use 2-3 drops or whatever you want for coverage. You are even getting the same amount of product in each which is 0.5 oz.

I was really pleased with how well these worked and the coverage you get that you can mix with different products. Definitely look into these if you are interested in trying them for yourself. I can tell you that you will not be disappointed.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Mix-In Pigment Makeup Drops retail for $7 and can be found at Walmart stores.

  1. What did you think of the lasting power of the Hard Candy drops? Did it change any of the effects of your primer?

    1. The lasting power was great for being a drugstore product. I had the drops on all day and I didn't notice any fading. They also didn't change the effects of my primer. I found them to work the same as the Cover FX ones. Hopefully you can give them a try soon and let me know what you think! :)
