Softlips Cube in Pomegranate Blueberry - Review

June 13, 2014

Today I have a review of the Softlips Cube. I saw this at Walgreens about a month ago, but I didn’t end up purchasing. I was really interested though, mainly because of the packaging. Softlips has always had some really great lip balms, but how did this one do? Find out below!

More information from the Softlips website:
Hydrates, formulated with Shea Butter to restore moisture
Replenish with antioxidant Vitamins A,C, and E
Smoothes, rich emollients leave lips silky and soft
Protects with SPF 15 sunscreen
Adds shine for a perfect radiant finish
There are three different cubes available: Pomegranate Blueberry, Fresh Mint, and Vanilla Bean. The one that I got, Pomegranate Blueberry, was honestly the one I wouldn’t of picked on my own. I got this through Influenster, and was excited of try it out. Let me first talk about the packaging. I really love the packaging, with the top being clear so you can see the lip balm and the bottom with the color of the shade. Screwing it open is nice so you know its secure when closing it.

The actual lip balm I was on the fence about. This Softlips Cube in Pomegranate Blueberry has an amazing fruity smell that I just kept wanting to smell all day. I applied the lip balm and it was smooth and had some shine to it. Immediately my lips were feeling soft and moisturized. I was happy at first, but the lip balm didn’t last very long throughout the day. Within 2-3 hours, I needed to reapply and this happened all day long. I was reaching for it more often then I wanted to. Then the next day when I was ready to use it again, my lips seemed like all the moisture was sucked out of them. They were really dry and chapped. Seems like the lip balm didn’t do anything in a short time and even long term which was a bummer.

This is a nice lip balm for immediate softness, but I didn’t see anything making it great for nice smooth lips for a long period of time.

Softlips Cube retails for $3.49 and can be found at Ulta, Walgreens, and other drugstores.

Let me know if you have tried this lip balm and what you think!

I received the product mentioned complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.

  3. You do! You can thank me later ;) lol. Seriously though, it's the best out of the whole range on Nivea's even better than the lip butters imo.
