Color Flash™ Instant Gel Nail Color LED POD by Katie Cazorla - Review

July 31, 2013

One of the nights that I was in Vegas for Cosmoprof, I was able to attend a dinner with other amazing bloggers and Katie Cazorla. If you are a nail fanatic, then you should know Katie. She has a TV show on the TV Guide Network called Nail Files and she's so funny and amazing in person. She also has her own product line, which includes nail LED lights, Color Flash polish, and nail extras to go with everything. Read on to find out more!

At the dinner, Katie was so gracious to give everyone a LED POD and polishes to take and try out. She gave a demo of her putting on the polish right at the table and it was so fast I couldn't believe it. She had me feel how her nail was completely dry and it took less than 2 minutes. I was super impressed and couldn't wait to try it out for myself. I used the LED POD as soon as I got back from Vegas.
There are so many things that I find amazing about this little LED POD. First, you can use a USB cord and plug it into your computer if you are on the go and need to do your nails quick. Or you can pop in some batteries and use it anywhere you need to. Another thing, is there is no base coat or top coat needed. All you need is the nail polish, that's it! I've used other at home gel kits and there are so many steps to getting my finished gel mani. Priming, base, color, top, taking off the residue, etc. This makes it so easy to get a gel mani and fast. Even thought it's fast, I wondered how effective it really is? I wasn't sure if my mani was going to last or start to chip and peel. So this is where my testing came in.

I used the color Minty and application was easy. I did each nail with two coats and cured each coat for 60 seconds. You can't tell from the picture, but the polish was really shiny and felt the same as a regular gel manicure. I didn't go easy on my nails. I did everything that I normally do and not thinking about my nails being done. Just to see if the polish would start lifting or chipping.

This picture for Day 3 shows the polish in its true color. Day 3 my mani looked just as good as Day 1. I had no problems with chipping or lifting of the polish and I even got compliments on my nails.

Overall by Day 5, my mani looked pretty good still. I could slightly see my nails on the very edge growing out, but from afar you couldn't tell at all. I only lasted until day 5 though. I'm the type of person that needs to change the color of my mani quickly, so 5 days was a stretch for me. But I did it and the results were great. Once I was ready to take off the polish, I was thinking about how much damage would be under.

I took this pic right after I took the polish off. Of course my cuticles need urgent care and I had a bit of left over polish, but my nails are not damaged at all. My nails just felt normal as if I took off a regular nail polish.

I will be getting so much use out of this light. I'm definitely happy and pleased with the results from this. The Color Flash LED POD retails for $39 and Color Flash Polishes are $15 each. If you need any more information, you can find it on Katie Cazorla's website.

I hope you enjoyed this review. Let me know what you think!
