The NYX Mystic Petals Eyeshadow Palette has been around for a while now, but I recently picked it up at Target because the colors seemed great for Fall/Winter. It has been so hot here in LA and I am ready for some cooler temps and smokey shadow looks. This eyeshadow palette is definitely not the brightest or super pigmented but I feel like it got the job done in the best way. It comes with 10 eyeshadows and they are a mix of mattes and shimmers. The packaging is very simple with just a clear lid with the name and no mirror. The pans of the shadows are a good size and not too overwhelming for drugstore. I like how the palette is slim making it easy to store with my other eyeshadows. Any time you are working to make drugstore shadows work, it's always best to use a good eyeshadow primer. It really does help to shades to stick to something and the pigmentation ends up better.
The first five eyeshadows in this palette are not my fave but they are good. I think the standout shade from the 5 is the fourth shade which is more of a shimmery pink pearl color. The 2 darker end shades are matte making them easy to incorporate into any eye look. The bottom row really shines and I absolutely love all of them! They are so pigmented and really gorgeous jewel-toned shades. They are perfect for fall/winter but can also be used whenever for a smokey colorful eye look. I feel like this a great buy for $12 and all the shades are useful in this palette.
