Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Savannah - Review

June 21, 2017

When I went on my weekly trip to Sephora, I knew I wanted a lip product but not a matte or a liquid lipstick. It was then I stumbled upon this Color Balm Lipstick from Stila. It claimed to be a creamy lip color that nourishes like a balm. Plus it had a peppermint scent so I was sold. I was so excited to find something that would give my lips color while still keeping them moisturized all day long. My results on this though were different than expected. Find out more below!

I ended up picking up the shade Savannah. It is described as a mid tone cool brown. I don't own a lot of brown lipstick or lip products so I wanted to give it a try over buying another nude shade. The packaging is a bonus because how pretty is that all gold look? It feels sleek and it's the perfect size to take with you anywhere.

You can see from the swatch pic that it has the right amount of pigment and shine. I love the finish of this and how it looks on the lips when you apply it. The problem I had was the after a few hours. This has peppermint oil which is made to cool and calm the lips which it did at first. After about 1-2 hours, my lips felt so dry and the product started to settle into my lines. I thought maybe I just needed to reapply but it was still making my lips dry to the point where it started to feel uncomfortable.

A lot of people love these Stila Color Balm Lipsticks, but I think for me it just isn't worth it for the price and how my end results were. Which is unfortunate because I really wanted to love this. I think I would if it didn't have the peppermint oil.

Stila Color Balm Lipstick retails for $22 and can be found at Sephora, Ulta, and on the Stila website.

Have you tried this color balm lipstick from Stila?
Let me know your thoughts!
