Sonia Kashuk Extreme Wear Eye Base - Review

September 24, 2012

I haven't done a lot of reviews on eye bases/primers, and there is a reason for that. I always use the same two primers: MAC Painterly or Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I wasn't even looking to buy a new eye primer, but this one from Sonia Kashuk looked interesting. I put it to the test to see how long lasting it would be and if it's worth buying. See my review below!

More info on this eye base:
The silky, weightless formula glides on to smooth the skin, create the perfect canvas for color application and enhance staying power. The lightweight formula contains African Walnut Seed Oil to restore and protect skin̢۪s elasticity, emollients to smooth the skin and micro-fine pigments for an even flawless finish.

Packaging- I prefer eye bases in packaging like this over a tube or pencil. A jar is much more convenient for me when I want to use a synthetic brush instead of my fingers. Only downside to the jar itself was the opening being a bit small. When I would try and get the product with my fingers, and it was hard to reach the product. Other than that, I like the packaging.

Shade - The shade of the eye primer is just a matte beige. I really like that there is no shimmer or shine to this primer. Just a great base to start any eye look.

Scent - No scent to this product, which I prefer.

Product - I found this eye base to be creamy, yet not super thick. It was also a bit dry once applied to the lid. I thought the dryness to this would not be able to keep my eye shadow on all day. The wear on this though was actually great. It kept my shadow in place and did not crease one bit.

So is this an eye base worth checking out? Yes! I have been using this one more than any of the other eye bases I own.

Sonia Kashuk Extreme Wear Eye Base retails for $8.99 and can be found at Target stores.

Let me know what you think!
