Today I have a look at one of the new products for spring 2017 from Maybelline. It is The 24k Nudes Eyeshadow Palette which comes with 12 jewel-toned shades ranging from mattes to shimmers. I was really excited to try it out since Maybelline had mentioned how they are going to reformulate their shadow formula including this palette. So I was curious to see how much better they were going to be and if they would be softer and more pigmented. Find out my thoughts on this below!
I want to mention that these swatches were done with no primer. I would definitely use a primer with these to get more pigment and help them last on the eyes. The first row was disappointing for me except for the second brown matte shade and the gold shade. The other lighter eyeshadows were not building up and the fifth shade wouldn't even swatch. I did notice that all of the shadows had a softer feel but not like high-end shadows.
The second row was so much better and they all had better pigmentation. I needed to work with them a bit, but they were overall had good color payoff. I can really see and feel the improvement in this palette vs. their past eyeshadow palettes. Is it high quality like high end palettes? No, but I think Maybelline did do a better job than before.
Maybelline The 24k Nudes Eyeshadow Palette retails for $9.99 and can be found at CVS and other retail stores.
