Sample Saturday - Bite Beauty, Drunk Elephant, Origins

June 11, 2016

I love doing Sample Saturday posts, but I have decided to add more than just one sample. I have been getting more samples lately and I want to use them up. Hopefully this will be more helpful and you like these posts. Let me know if you like more samples in one post or when I focus on just one sample. Anyway, these are the samples I have tried and I will let you know my thoughts below!

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask (Full size retails for $26 each) - I have always heard amazing things about the lip masks from Bite Beauty and now I know why. These are very soothing, moisturizing, and feel so good on the lips. This sample came with the three shades: Champagne, Natural, and Smashed. I knew that I would be able to live without Natural and Smashed since one is clear and the other is red. Champagne really hit the mark for me and was my absolute favorite of the three. It has a nice golden shimmer and feels very hydrating.

Would I purchase the full size? Yes! In the shade champagne I definitely would.

Drunk Elephant B Hydra(TM) Intensive Hydration Gel (Full size retails for $52) - I haven't used any products from Drunk Elephant before, so I was really excited to give the brand a try. This is an antiaging vitamin B5 gel that is supposed to brighten and improve skin's texture and tone while giving intense moisture. It does give really good hydration all day since this is something I must use on a daily basis for my dry skin. Even though my skin is sensitive, it was gentle and lightweight.

Would I buy the full size? Yes, but only if I had the extra money to splurge since it is high priced.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos(TM) Glycolic Night Serum (Full size retails for $90) - This is another Drunk Elephant sample and it's a glycolic night serum. It is made to refine and resurface skin by gently dissolving dead skin cells and support natural collagen. This.. was an experience and not the best that I've had. It is of course going to tingle and sting a bit from the glycolic which I expected. But I had it on for 10 minutes and it was practically burning my skin. I mean, not terribly unbearable but I could feel it and it was uncomfortable. I had to wash it off since I didn't want my skin to react badly to it. I have really sensitive skin so maybe that's why my skin was freaking out.

Would I purchase the full size? No! Not for me.

Origins Original Skin™ Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay icon (Full size retails for $26) - I love getting face mask samples since I use masks about twice a week. This one from Origins is a two-in-one purifying mask and skin refiner that will smooth, refine pores, and boost skin's overall quality. I really liked this mask. It was a bit strong in the scent, but surprisingly I wasn't allergic to it. I left the mask on for the time it says and removed it with warm water. My skin felt very soft, a bit brighter, and smoother than before. I was really happy with the results.

Would I buy the full size? Yes! Loved this.

So that is all for Sample Saturday this week. Let me know if you have tried a sample of these products or if you own the full size. I would love to hear your thoughts!
