NYX Cosmetics Define & Refine Powder Foundation - Review

April 6, 2015

I usually stay away from foundations that are powder, since I’m usually afraid they are going to cling to my dry skin. I still had the same feeling when I was testing this powder foundation out from NYX. I ended up using the shade light and the compact comes with two shades to either mix together or use on their own. Find out how my experience went with this below!

This powder foundation comes with something a little bit different. There are two shades, one is the shade you expect and the other is slightly darker with some pearl like shimmer. You can either use the shade on its own, or mix it with the darker shade for more color and glow. I have to say that I was happy with the results and how it looked on my skin. I like the idea of it having a dark shade, which works out great to use during the spring/summer seasons.

I ended up using a powder brush to apply the foundation and then a flat top brush to buff it into my skin. It gave me a flawless look that was buildable and didn’t make my skin look dry at all. The powder foundation had a nice natural finish and even when I would build it up, it didn’t cake up or look like I had a bunch of makeup on. I applied the rest of my makeup and I found the powder to last throughout the day without touching up. I seriously can’t find any negatives about this. I thought it wasn’t going to work for my skin, but not only did it work, it covered really well.

NYX Cosmetics Define & Refine Powder Foundation retails for $12 and can be found on the NYX website.

  1. It looks really good on you! Would you say that it's similar to Clinique Almost Makeup powder, if you've tried it?
