CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm - Swatches and Review (2 Shades)

January 1, 2013

Today I have a review of the new Covergirl jumbo gloss balms. Seems like a lot of makeup companies have or will come out with these jumbo pencil type gloss balms. I own some already from Revlon and Tarte, but I've never tried the ones from Clinique. I was interested to see how I would like these from Covergirl. See more photos and my review below!

Pic taken outside with no flash.
I bought shades 275 Mauve Twist and 235 Coral Twist. The swatch picture above is what I could get to show the color of each one. They are still glossy, but my camera didn't pick it up when I was outside. I should of picked brighter shades from the line instead of neutral shades. These neutral shades didn't do anything for me. I could hardly see each one since my lips are pigmented on their own already. I enjoyed Mauve Twist more than Coral Twist. I wanted to buy Berry Twist but they were all gone. I still tested out the wear and they lasted a few hours and then I needed to reapply. They were comfortable at first, and then the moisture seemed to disappear as I was wearing the gloss balm for a few hours. Then once the moisture was gone, I needed to reapply the color. I'm not very impressed and won't be buying anymore. I prefer the Tarte ones over these and Revlon.

CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balms retail for $6.99 each and can be found at drugstores or where CoverGirl is sold.

I hope this review was helpful!

  1. The revlon ones are different , since they're stain balms, meaning once the balm part wears off, your lips are stained. These are just glossy balms. I don't think they're meant to stain or leave a lot of color.
