Pixi Beauty Tinted Brilliance Balms (2 Shades) - Swatches and Review

May 31, 2012

I have already shown you a few Pixi nail polishes, now I have two of the tinted balms to show swatches of. I have been really into tinted balms lately more than wearing a lipstick or a sticky lipgloss. Could be the hot weather here or the "no effort" feeling I've been having, but these are so much easier to throw on and in your purse. There are seven shades available and I have swatches of no.6 Baby Bare and no.2 Magnific Mauve.

The Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balms are described as:
Super-nourishing, lip-staining balm that keeps lips in optimum condition while giving them lush colour.
What it is formulated to do:
Packed with lip-loving ingredients, this glossy gel balm protects & hydates lips instantly. After the balm wears off, lips are left tinted with a flattering, personalized hue just for you (colour & intensity depends on pH level of lips).
Twist-up crayon requires no sharpening. Secure lid after use.

Beneficial ingredients and what they do:
  • Jojoba oil is an effective natural moisturizer and environmental barrier for the skin
  • Peptides plump fine lines
  • Vitamin E nourishes and protects
  • Shea butter nourishes the skin
  • Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant
  • Rose extract nourishes & repairs
These tinted balms were actually really moisturizing and the colors did leave a tint on my lips. They apply smooth and I love the shine that they give. The only thing was they didn't last as long as I wanted. They still lasted about 4 hours with the tint still on my lips, just not much shine. Other than that, I really do feel my lips are being conditioned with these balms.
One more problem I do have, is the price. These are $16 each which seems like a bit much for a tinted lip balm. You could buy Revlon lip butters for have that price and still be getting almost the same amount of product. Revlon lip butters have 0.9oz and these Pixi balms have 0.10oz. The price for me is a big no for me, but I do enjoy the quality of the lip balms.

Let me know what you think!

  1. Pretty colors! They kind of remind me of the new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains which I *love*!
