Drugstore Sundays #2: Favorite Blushes and Powders

October 30, 2011

Here we are on Drugstore Sunday #2! These posts are actually quite exciting for me, that I have a certain day to get these posts done. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. This Sunday will focus on my favorite blushes and powders. Now, I definitely don't want you to think these are the greatest blushes and powders from the drugstore of all time. That's not what these posts are about. Just my favorites and a description of why. I hope that makes sense.

E.L.F. Cosmetics Essentials Eyelid Primers - Review

October 26, 2011

I bought these eyelid primers from E.L.F. a while ago and I have been using them ever since. First off, your going to notice my eyelid primers are a different shape than what is online. That's only because I bought these in a set from Target quite a while ago. I payed $3 for three primers, making them $1 each, same as online. I've actually seen pretty decent reviews on the eyelid primer in nude, so I figured I'm not loosing out on much if they are horrible.

October 18, 2011

It's been a full month that I have been using this gel-cream moisturizer from Garnier, so I thought now would be a good time to do a review. I was looking for a moisturizer that would be good for dry skin. So when I saw this at CVS, I thought I would give it a try and see how well it would work to block out dryness.

Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers 2011 Nail Colors - Swatches

Today is just a swatch post with Wet N Wild Fantasy Makers nail polishes. They are really gorgeous colors, so if you find them, definitely pick them up. I got these at CVS and I haven't seen any since. Every store I have been to, they are either sold out or not even in the store.
I ended up swatching them on a nail wheel, which I hope you all don't mind. I used 3 coats for each and I really love these colors. My favorite is Creepy Pumpkin, which I intended to not even buy at all. I want to wear Black Magic throughout Fall and not just for Halloween. Haha.

Did you pick these up? What do you think?

NOTD - Revlon Starry Pink

October 11, 2011

I have been leaving my nails completely bare lately to let them grow out, so I finally painted my nails and have a NOTD post. This one is featuring Revlon Starry Pink and I am so happy that I found it recently. I was looking for it at so many Target stores, but I ended up finding it at a local Walgreens. Which was a surprise to me, but a pleasant surprise of course.

It's such a girly, light pink, sparkly nail polish that I can't stop staring at my nails. I only used 2 coats here, which you can still see my natural nails. I prefer it this way than another coat. Personal preference here.  I know it's going to be a pain to remove but it's well worth it! :)

Do you have Starry Pink?

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms in Peach Kiss and Pink Punch - Swatches and Review

October 5, 2011

When I heard about these new Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms, I wasn't really that intrigued. I intended to not even find them at all around in my area. I happened to stop and a CVS about 10 minutes away from me to get makeup wipes when I saw a full display of these. Once I saw them, I couldn't leave without buying a few. These two were the last of each kind, so I had one of those "meant for me" moments. Plus, there was a sale this week for buy one get one 50% off. So, I ended up paying around $6 for two.
This is how Maybelline describes Baby Lips Lip Balms:
"Say goodbye to basic lip balm and rediscover the lips you were born to have!
- Lips are instantly moisturised for up to 8 hours.
- Contains active care ingredients, such as shea butter and centella.
- Vitamin Complex delivering powerful anti-oxidants.
- SPF 20 for protection against harmful UV rays.
- After 4 weeks lips are deeply repaired, completely reborn. Guaranteed."

Peach Kiss:

Pink Punch:
My Review:
Since these are a lip balm, the first thing is the moisturizing part. are they moisturizing? Yes. For a long period of time? No. Once I apply this, I need to reapply within 20 minutes. Now that's a lot of reapplying if you are planning to use this all day long. If that's something that will bother you, then stick with your lip balm. I actually really enjoy these, and don't mind reapplying all day long. I like the fact that I can put this on fast, and I know my lips will have color to them. I've been keeping Peach Kiss in my purse ever since I bought it. I love the fruity smell it has and the nude, peachy, shiny color it gives to my lips. Pink Punch is a great one too, giving a wonderful pink color that is also shiny.
I was even thinking of picking up something like this, where I would have color on my lips but I wouldn't have to deal with the stickiness of a lipgloss. Of course lipsticks, but I didn't want that either. This is a happy medium between the two, and my lips are feeling a bit more moisturized then before. The "4 weeks" claim seen above in the description I can't prove if it's true or not. I will give an update on my Twitter once the 4 weeks is up to let you know if that is indeed true.

So that is my review. I hope it was helpful! Let me know what you think of these in the comments :)

♥ Stephanie
