Brand Bests #9 - Hard Candy

Already Brand Bests #9? That was fast! But so many great brands and products, I'm not surprised. Hard Candy has probably the cutest packaging and products I have ever seen. Very reasonable, as it is sold at Wal-Mart, and most are good quality products. Have heard some aren't as great as others, but that's why I have these kind of posts. To let my readers know, from my experience, what I think would be great products for everyone. These are my personal favorites that I tend to use the most. Know that this is from my experience with each item that I have loved from this brand.

Hard Candy Mouthing Off Lipgloss ($6)

This is the only picture I could find. This is not the color I own. The one I have is a dark brown with shimmer called Mocha. Wasn't too sure about the dark brown at first, but it's definitely sheer like it says. After about an hour having it on, it completely smoothed out my lips! That was a pleasant shock! I love it so much, I wear it all the time right now, and I will be buying a back up for Fall. Haha.

Hard Candy Just Nails Nail Polish ($5)
MmmHmm.. Yes there nail polishes are amazing. So easy to apply, never a struggle. I have this color and I love it so much! For $5 you cannot go wrong with these polishes. I wish they would come out with more exclusive or limited edition colors, that would be awesome. Also the plastic ring is a bonus that I wear occasionally.

Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in Tiki ($9)
I really believe for blushes and bronzers, you don't have to spend a lot to get a great one. This one is 9 bucks, and gives me a glowy look to my skin. Not too much shimmer, which I like. It's more pretty than the picture looks. Trust me. This one got my through Summer, and will give me a little color in the Fall.

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Face Primer ($8)

If you are frequent reader of my blog, then you know why this is in the Brand Bests. If you're not, you're missing out. Click here to see the review I did of this primer.

What are your favorites from Hard Candy? Let me know!

Review - One Bath and Body Products and Giveaway

    Hey everyone!
So I wanted to do a review for you on One bath and body body soap, that I have been using for about a month now.

First, let me start by letting you know a little more about the company. Here is some info from the website:

"One Bath and Body takes eco-conscious to the next level, uniting superior natural ingredients and recyclable packaging to offer genuinely earth-friendly products. From bath formulas to nourishing moisturizers, the entire collection is infused with essential oils, natural butters and delicate fragrance."

So this review will be specifically on the Sweet Honey Natural Body Soap.
Sweet Honey smells exactly the what you will think, like honey. But faintly, nothing overbearing. The packaging is a real plus. I love that it's 100% recyclable which I did reuse to put some stuff in. This one says it is great for sensitive skin which I was happy about. It is extremely moisturizing to my skin and makes it super soft once I get out of the shower. I usually prefer to use a body wash, but this soap has been constantly used ever since I got it.

Can't really say too much about a soap. It works and smells good.

Review - Too Faced Lashgasm Mascara

I know what your thinking. Lashgasm? Interesting name, and a more interesting mascara. As you already might know from reading this blog before, I love Too Faced products. Let's just say if I had to pick my top 3 makeup brands, Too Faced would be in there.

Lashgasm is one of their newest mascaras that came out with this year's Fall collection.
First of all before I get into what I think about this mascara, here is what Too Faced describes it as:
Lashgasm is a voluptuous fluffing mascara that conditions as it thickens to create dramatically long lashes with intense color. Our unique, flexible molded brush grabs lashes from all sides for a climax of length volume. ($21)

Now you do have to take into consideration, the kind of lashes I have. They are already long, so I'm not looking for length. The are pin straight, so I am looking for something that is going to give me curl and will hold that curl all day long.

So what did I think of this mascara? I like it. Let me list some positive things about this mascara. It seemed to hold my curl longer than other mascaras. Every time I would look in the mirror to re-curl, I didn't need to. It is water-resistant which I do like, that probably helped with the curl staying power.

Okay and of course, nothing is perfect, a few things I didn't like about it. The flexi-firm brush. The brush is actually a little bit too flexible than I would like. Could be that I'm so used to the general type of brushes, so it probably one of those "getting used to" things. But right off the bat, I made a face. And not a good one, so there you go. Also the mascara itself is a little more liquidy than others I have used. Once applied, kind of had to wait longer than my average mascara to dry.

Have you tried Too Faced Lashgasm Mascara?

Prime Time - MAC Prep + Prime Skin

Next up part of my little series, is MAC Prep + Prime Skin. I bought this a while ago, never really touched it much. Just recently started using it and overall it's a good primer.
Like I said, it's a good primer, nothing exciting about it really. The smell is not attracting to me, but

EOTD - Featuring Glamour Doll Eyes Halloween Set

    Hey everyone!
So I did a really simple EOTD using Glamour Doll Eyes new Halloween set. I used set #2 to create this look. I did a post with review and swatches here if you haven't seen that first.

    Here is what I used:
    - Too Faced Shadow Insurance
    - MAC Painterly Paint Pot
    - GDE shadow in Infectious on entire lid
    - GDE shadow in Undead for outer lid and crease
    - GDE shadow in Satan's Sheets for highlight
    - GDE shadow in Teenage Witch for eyeliner
    - Chanel Mascara

Let me know what you think!

Prime Time - Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Primer

Here is my second review, I guess you can call this a mini-series of face primers. I'm going to call them "Prime Time", I know not even original but oh well. Haha. This review will be about the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Primer.
I have to say that this is the best smelling primer you could probably ever buy. It has Chamomile, Yarrow extract, and Vitamin E, which will give your skin great hydration and a smooth complexion.
As you can see, this is the most creamiest primer I have ever used. It's not greasy at all and it says it will "automatically" glide over your skin which it definitely does. This one is a happy medium to all the rest of the face primers. I reach for this one way more than any of the others. It is a little pricey, but for how good it works and the smell alone, I would definitely buy another when I run out.

Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer is available at napoleonperdis.com and retails for $39.

Have you tried or use this product? Let me know!

Swatches - Glamour Doll Halloween Set #2

    Hey everyone!
I was so excited when Vanessa from Glamour Doll contacted me to review one of her limited edition Halloween sets. There are 2 sets that are going to be available on the Glamour Doll site, and I received set #2. This post is going to be swatches and review, then I will have an EOTD in another post.
    This set comes with:
    - Teenage Witch - A dark grayish with gold sparkle
    - Undead - Black with red undertones/sheen
Satan's Sheets - A satin white with lots of red sparkle
I honestly love every single color in this collection. Each set comes in the cutest black organza bag with gold/orange stars. The sets will sell for $16 plus shipping and will go on sale October 1st (possibly sooner). Remember they are limited edition so if you want one, don't hesitate to get it.

Now I'm more excited about Halloween! Hope you enjoyed!

Prime Time - Hard Candy Sheer Envy Face Primer

I just recently noticed that I have no reviews of face primers. Tisk tisk on my part. So I thought I would start a few reviews on some face primers that I currently own. I was going to cram it all into one long post, but I have about 5 primers to review so that idea was gone. Hopefully these reviews on face primers are helpful to you in some way. So I'm going to start out with Hard Candy face primer.
Hard Candy Sheer envy is a silicone primer, so if you don't like the greasy feeling that comes with this, then skip. It personally doesn't bother me that much because my skin is on the dry side. So in a way it's kind of hydrating to my skin.
I really like that it has an SPF 15, it's a low SPF but better than nothing. I do wait a little while to apply my foundation to kind of let it completely dry. After that, my foundation goes on really nice and smooth. Doesn't look greasy or shiny. Just a nice consistency.

Hard Candy Sheer Envy Face Primer is available at Wal-mart and retails for $8.

Have you tried or use this product? Let me know!

    EOTD - Golden Night

I have been wanting to do a EOTD with gold for a while, and I thought this week would be perfect since New Years Eve is coming up. This was so simple, just a gold and dark brown look. You could definitely use black eyeshadow instead of the dark brown, it's all about your own preference. So here is what I used:

    - Too Faced Shadow Insurance
    - Shiseido Cream Eye Shadow Duo
    - Yaby Cosmetics Pearl Paint Eye Shadow in Antique
    - Napoleon Perdis Eye Shadow Quad 13 (Used the Darkest brown for outer lid, Lightest for Highlight)
    - Milani Eye Tech Liquid Eyeliner in Black
    - Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Black

Let me know what you think! :)

Beauties Be Gone - August Empties

Hey everyone! So I thought I would do a quick post on what my empties were in August. No pics, just simple and to the point. Okay, here we go!

    • Benefit Gee.. That Was Quick! Makeup Remover - I really like this makeup remover more than most. The bottle probably lasted me a good 2 months. I did a small review of it in one of my Brand Bests. I will be repurchasing this for sure.
    •  MAC Brush Cleanser - For some reason, I always have to use this brush cleanser. I know there are so many other cheaper ways to go, but I just can't tear myself away from this stuff. Yes, will be a repurchase. Haha. For now, my trusty baby shampoo.
    •  MAC Fix + - Who doesn't love this stuff? I actually haven't run out this fast before. So a stop to MAC is definitely in the future.
    • E.L.F. Liquid Liner in Black - Not the greatest liner ever, but for the price you can't go wrong. I just didn't like that it seemed really watery. Probably won't purchase again which is a bummer.
    • EOS Lip Balm in Mint - This empty is my most saddest yet. I love the way this particular one smells. Ugh and I can't find it anywhere in my area. Sad.
    • Chanel Glossimer in Glaze - This one is so sheer, almost clear, just puts a tad pink hue to your lips. Constantly in my purse, it never leaves me. Need. More. Now.
    • Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Black -  Yes, my HG mascara is an empty. Kind of good because it's already been 3 months so time to replace.
    • Too Faced Shadow Insurance - I have many eye primers, but for some reason I reach for this one way more than all the others. I love this one, but I think it's time to go to my UDPP for a while.
    • Cotton Balls, Q-Tips, and Nail Polish Remover -  You know the drill there.

So there you go! Not sure if I should do these kind of posts every month or not. Let me know what your thoughts are!
